Seriously though. Here's the deal: I live in large cities where a back yard is not really a thing but I'm not paying an extra grand per month for a gym I won't use and that's usually how you have access to a jacuzzi. I've been looking for years for a viable option that will fit on a small porch or patio and this, my friends, it it.
Here's what you need to know:
Boxes are a bit heavy for the average dude
Lay-down and setup is easy - the blower inflates the tub for you
Filling is easy
Takes about one to two full days to get to temperature - there's no faster way
Max temp is 104 and it will get to 102-104 even in colder evenings down in the high 30s low 40s
It turns itself off after 3 days (72 hours) so you need to do "something" on its panel ever 3 days to keep it hot
Power consumption is about $40-80 per month depending on outside temperature
Maintenance is really easy - I recommend the Leisure Time Simple Care Weekly and Monthly Maintenance Kit
You'll also need pool salt, a sterilizer (chlorine or bromine), and a test kit
Test weekly
The electrical setup is such that it will not heat and pump or heat and blow air at the same time. It also will not generate chlorine and heat at the same time from what I can tell. With that said, I recommend brominating the spa and just leaving the heater on until you want to use the jets or bubblers. This provides the best user experience.
While there are no "seats", the floor is very compliant and the walls are very comfortable - you'll be surprised by how comfortable it is.
Two people sit comfortably. Three induces "where are my toes touching" questions and four or more is a no-go unless they're little kids. This is not for 4-6 but 1-3 people.
If you test and treat once per week for 10 minutes, you're done.
NOTE: My pump/heat/chlorinator unit did not work properly on arrival in that it would not go into sterilization mode and generate chlorine from the salt water. My honest advice is this: don't bother with the chlorinator - it's a separate mode that precludes the heater, so you have to sit around and switch modes. Still use salt, but just sterilize with bromine tabs.
Conclusion: This isn't a true substitute for
I purchased this in May 2021 I wanted to wait a couple months before I wrote a review… The box is heavy so when you order request to be delivered to where you want to set it up… Set up was pretty easy I’m a small woman, did most of it by myself with a little help from my son-in-law… it was set up within an hour, then added the water. I also put down a 1 inch thick foam puzzle mat for insulation that I purchased off of Amazon. The only thing that was confusing to me was the heat timer I thought it was a shut off timer but it’s actually a start up timer so when you come home it’s ready for use.
I had an electrician install a 120 V outlet on a separate line for extra safety.
I would’ve given this a five star but what I didn’t like is the fact that you can only have the Jets or the bubbles running you can’t have them both running at the same. Jets are manually adjustable. Good sturdy jacuzzi. You can sit on the Edge. I purchased 2 intex cup holders fits perfectly…didn’t purchase any headrests not necessary, it’s very comfortable to rest your head on the side.
I use a chlorine floater when not using the jacuzzi… I don’t use the chemical attachment that comes with it, I don’t really know the purpose for it…I prefer to use chlorine over bromine because I have a swimming pool as well and I don’t want to mix chemicals going back-and-forth between the pool and the Jacuzzi. I also have been adding 1/3 cup of alkalinity up (about every 3 days) to keep ph in balance. I test the water every day with test strips (that’s all you really need) I do use about 1 tsp of foam out as needed and that’s it for chemicals… don’t need to spend a lot of money on chemicals and you don’t need those starter kits they’re a waste of money… Just test your water and balance it… I also take it to my pool guy for testing, it’s free…Go to someone you can trust that’s not going to try to sell you everything.
Overall this is a great product. I did a lot of research and reading reviews. There aren’t many inflatable jacuzzis with hydrojets I only found one other product with them and it had bad reviews. It’s definitely worth it if you don’t want to spend a lot on a non-inflatable Jacuzzi.
You can achieve a full stretch (so says my friend with a 36" inseam).
Takes a bit to initially warm up if you use a garden hose to fill. (Logical but must be said.)
Hydrojets are impactful & are actually therapeutic.
(I have 7 levels of metal and these jets provided enough Omph to loosen the tightness of my muscles.)
The typical bottom bubbler is visually & generally effective & enjoyable.
I do wipe the waterline often as we have pollen as a large component of our air at the moment. I also wipe around the bubble line as it tends to get "slippery" even though all levels read as on point.
It isn't a bother, I'm just a bit specific about textures.😉
But all in all, easy to set up, easy to maintain, and a joy to use.
My neighbor purchased a hard side jacuzzi that is about the same compact size and she spent 3k. For around 700, this inflatable Saluspa is an amazing value.
1 small complaint is the the airline used to initially inflate the spa & lid are basically unavailable after the unit is filled with water.
Make sure you have all chemicals & a bottom sucker & your experience will be awesome.
