The color charts are on Bee Paper Company's Aquabee Watercolor paper. It isn't super expensive and you can often get the small pack cheap at craft stores with a coupon. The inks look fairly nice on that paper, and I have also ordered some Arches watercolor paper to see if I can use that for a smoother look. The painting I have posted here is on 100% cotton cardstock (111 lb / 300gsm - super white) which was still a little streaky, but looks pretty cool in real life. I'm hoping the higher quality watercolor paper will help give a smoother look, but it was good for messing around with brush application.

The colors are rich and vibrant, they look beautiful on wood (which is what I've been using them on and on wood at least, they have a very subtle shine that really brings out the grain of the wood and and gives the color a lot of depth.
I've been using them to stain my woodburnings and they're transparent enough for the burns to come through while still adding a ton of color.
I've attached a picture of my current work in project as an example. It's my first time using these inks so it doesn't look as polished as it could, but this'll at least give you an idea of how well the dye works with pyrography.

A bit hard to clean away so I suggest getting an ink remover or cleaner but other than this they seem pretty good.
They do fade fairly quickly if left in the sun for over three days, so don't do that.
Otherwise I'd suggest these inks and buy them again. They are an EXCELLENT buy if just dipping your toe into the ink well so to speak, or getting into the art of using ink which is what I'm doing. =-) They are good for the under-drawing of a watercolor if you're using heavy thick paint on the page, or even acrylic, since drawing on canvas with a marker doesn't work, try a dip pen and these inks, they should work well. Overall - Very Permanent, and staining, but good First buy.
Definitely get these inks if you have the slightest interest. I doubt you'll regret it. They're very beautiful and very fun. It may take some practice though and trial and error but it's worth it :)
I've added three pictures of the process o was going through (it's still a WIP but I'm loving it so far!). I also did a mother's day card that turned out pretty flipping awesome. I'm in love with these inks.
